How to Use Rinse Aid:
Frequently Asked Questions

Before we show you how to use dishwasher rinse aid, let’s look at the science behind it. Sometimes our dishes come out a little less sparkly than we would like, which is usually because food and drink particles have circulated inside the dishwasher, ending up back on dishes, glassware and cutlery at the end of their cycle.

Our Finish® Jet Dry® Rinse Aid uses “surfactants,” reducing the surface tension of the water to prevent droplets forming, ensuring that when it slowly evaporates, it doesn’t leave anything behind.

With a little help from rinse aid, you can expect shinier and drier dishes:

  • Rinse aid prevents food and drink particles from ending up on your dishes at the end of the cycle

  • It fights nasty water spots that stain both your dishwasher and your kitchenware

  • Your kitchenware will come out sparkly rather than having residue, grease or water streaks

  • It ensures that you are truly saving time: rinse aid disperses the droplets that land on your dishware, meaning your dishes come out of the cycle dry

Your rinse aid should go in your liquid rinse aid dispenser, check your dishwasher manual for correct location.

Using rinse aid is easy. We would recommend using your regular dishwasher tablets with a rinse aid such as Finish® Jet Dry Rinse Aid in these simple steps:

Step 1: Locate the liquid rinse aid dispenser, which is usually a circular chamber that sits next to the compartment your tablets go in

Step 2: Fill up your rinse aid chamber and make sure you mop up any spilled product

Step 3: This will be automatically released into your rinse cycle every time you turn your dishwasher on

It depends how often you run your dishwasher, but we would recommend refilling the dispenser with Finish® Jet-Dry once per month.

Commercial dishwasher detergent and rinse aid do not mix. More often than you may think, people can mistakenly put dish soap in the rinse aid dispenser.

This can cause problems because it means that your dishwasher is going to get a lot of soap suds and create a load of bubbles that will potentially pour out of your dishwasher and onto the floor. If you've mistakenly put detergent in your rinse aid dispenser, follow these steps:

Step 1 – If you’ve already turned on your dishwasher, turn it off immediately and empty its contents of glasses and dishes etc.

Step 2 – Use a jug or bowl to collect up as many of the soap suds as possible before wiping the dishwasher down until it’s dry

Step 3 – Next, use a syringe (or something like a turkey baster) and add a drop of water to the chamber before suctioning as much of the dishwashing soap out as you can

Step 4 – Mix half a cup of vinegar and a quarter cup of salt then pour over into the dispenser and turn your dishwasher on for a few minutes

Step 5 – If the suds are not yet gone, repeat the process again

If you want to get shinier and drier dishes every wash, use – Finish® Rinse Aid.
